How do I love Kaplan?

Hello Everyone!

I have to say that I have never blogged before this class. So this is a great feat for me. I actually am really starting to like this part, when I really was not liking this in the beginning.

I love love love being able to be an online student. After being disabled for many years, I finally had a whistle blow, what am I going to do if my husband passes before me? We have no life insurance, no savings or much of anything else. I would not survive without him. Plus the fact that he has been doing it all on his own for many years. We have 3 kids and it has not ever been easy. I am really enjoying this part of my life now. We moved to Florida in September of "09". Just before our journey to the south, I was on the telephone with my Advisor, he asked me who would be the most proud of me for going back to school and my response was me! I am. I never thought after being out of school for over 32 years that I would have the opportunity to be back for my future again! Online schooling has opened up a whole new world for us all. I just can not believe that I am here and actually remembering things this late in my life. lol

Kaplan has made my life a meaning. I learn, I meet, have fun, coffee, chocolate and pj's all while I am in shcool. What could be better than that? I have to say it is nice to also get the awards every term from Kaplan with the encouragement to go on. So yes, I love being an online student. :)

  1. Great points! Nice "why".
Meaning people always have a why as to what they are doing, and for whom.
You have a very strong reason for doing what you're doing. I applaud you, great job Cheryl keep up the good work.
Think positive, and don't focus on what your fears used to be, but what you'll feel like having accomplished your goal, and taking care of your family.
    Great journeys lay ahead. ;-)

  3. Hey we're all part of a support group. And everybody needs a little shove in one way it another. If we ever have doubts, we always cam find support from either work, home, or through friends. If all else fails we still always have support on our Faith.

  5. Hello Cheryl, I also love being an on-line student, it has been an great experience so far. My husband wants me to be able to stand on my own 2 feet and do something with my knowledge and GOD forbid anything happen him (he's an union ironworker). Been living here in southeast Idaho for a little over a year now (i am a southern virginia native).

We are all in this together and we will prevail because we have support all around us.

  6. Hi Melissa!

You are so right, we are all here for each other. The more we share the more we grow. I really am starting to like the blogging thing too. At first, well, I really was hesitating for this, as I don't like to air my dirty laundry so to speak, but it is getting really kind of fun.

I am a MA native, then migrated to NH, finally to here in Naples, Florida. I love it here, but my husband hates it here. We are torn between us, as he is use to just going for a walk in the woods, here, well, not so easy. He also isn't crazy for the heat, but it helps my health. Not sure if we will stay here for long, but I sure hope so. We are still not aclamented to the weather yet for here, first summer, so time will tell.
